14 x 11
I admire artists who have a true grasp of color expression and loose brush work. If I am painting in a style other than abstract, I am prone to over-blending the paint. This painting is the start of my effort to make better plans in advance of starting a piece and applying color (with brush or palette knife) in a confident enough manner to place it and leave it. It will be a challenge to break old habits. While I admit that I didn't succeed completely on this piece with the place it and leave it aspect, I am happy enough with the results to keep working on the technique.
Did I mention that I love to paint? Too bad I have to work for a living.
This small, impressionistic landscape measures 14” x 11”, is painted with professional grade acrylics on stretched canvas with painted, staple free sides and is finished with a satin protective coat of varnish. I hope that you like it.
